May Day this year not only ushers in flowers but also Teacher Appreciation Week. Please keep your child’s teacher in mind as we enter and close out our final month of school with the following events.

May 1 – 5 – Teacher Appreciation Week, School-wide MAP Testing

May 2nd – Fourth Grade Safety Day @ the Butler Fairgrounds.

May 3rd – Second Grade Class Trip to Scovill Zoo (Decatur);                                                            Fifth Grade Conservation Day at the Montgomery County Extension Office.

May 5th – Pre-K Screening @ Methodist Hall, call Amy Blaum for an appointment @ 563-2411.

May 10th- 5th Grade Shadow Day / Orientation (6:00 PM) @ the Junior High.

May 11th - Third Grade Class Trip to New Salem / Lincoln’s Tomb

May 15th – Barnyard Zoo (FFA) @ North Campus

May 19th – Annual 4th Grade Wax Museum in the afternoon

May 23rd - Pre- K Carnival; 5th Grade Band Concert @ 7:00 PM in the Old Gym @ the HS

May 25th – Fifth Grade Class Trip to Cahokia Mounds; 1st Grade play @ 2:40

May 26th4th Grade Field Trip to Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum;                                             Last day for Pre-K  attendance

May 29th – Memorial Day Holiday

May 30th – Kindergarten Carnival 1:30-3:00

May 30 & 31 – Pre-K Parent / Teacher Conferences

May 31st – Kindergarten Graduation @ 9:30; Early Dismissal at 2:30

June 1st – North School Carnival; Early Dismissal at 2:30 (last day student attendance)

June 2nd – Teacher’s Institute – Teachers last day
