1. What is the best way to contact you?
The best way to contact me is through the school email: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
I check it daily.
2. What life lessons are most important to learn in elementary school?
My favorite poster is "All I Really Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten."  It still holds true today.  Some examples include: share everything, play fair, say sorry when you hurt somebody.  All things and ideas we use everyday.
3. What do you teach and what grade?

I teach 5th grade and love every minute of it.

4. Where did you go to college?

I received my Bachelor's degree at Illinois College in Jacksonville and my Master's at Eastern Illinois in Charleston.

5. What or who inspired you the most to be a teacher?

After volunteering at the YMCA in Jacksonville for an after school program, I knew I wanted to be a teacher.  I loved the "light bulb" moment I got after helping students with their work.  I knew teaching was something I wanted to do daily.

6. What is your favorite classroom activity?

I love reading novels in our Guided Reading groups.  I love watching kids interact and become a part of their book.  So many times they don't think or even want to get into a book, but they can't help it.  I love being a part of that.
