The Braves have played two exciting games since our last update, facing off against Vandalia on Monday and South Fork on Tuesday!

The 7th grade Braves started off slow against Vandalia, trailing 10-2 at halftime. But after the break, the team came out with fire and took a 12-10 lead. The game was close the entire way, but the Braves fought hard and pulled off a thrilling victory, their third win of the season! Asher Mariners was a beast on the boards, grabbing 8 rebounds, while Eli Sleboda and Colin Wexstten each contributed 3 steals to help secure the win.

The 8th grade Braves were in control for most of their game against Vandalia. They dominated the first half, leading 27-3 at halftime. Though their defense wasn't as intense in the second half, it was still strong enough to hold the Vandals to just 9 points. The Braves came away with an impressive 43-12 victory. Landon Glenn and Colby Stewart each pulled down 3 rebounds, while Coda Barnes led the team with 6 assists.

On Tuesday night, the Braves traveled to Kincaid to face the South Fork Ponies.

The 7th grade Braves struggled offensively, as the Ponies' press defense caused more than 30 turnovers throughout the game. Despite their best efforts, the Braves couldn’t overcome the pressure and suffered another loss.

The 8th grade Braves, however, came out strong against South Fork. Landon Glenn had the hot hand early, and the Braves finished the first quarter with an 18-6 lead. Though their defense slipped in the second quarter, they still held a 9-point lead at halftime. The second half was tough on offense, but the Braves' defense stepped up enough to secure a 7-point win. Landon Glenn led the charge with 10 rebounds, while Lane Herpstreith grabbed 7. Coda Barnes dished out 4 assists, and Kolton Cachera recorded 4 steals.

The Braves are back in action at home this Thursday, taking on Central A&M! Don’t miss the excitement!
