Sports Report:
Pretty busy few days after the Taylorville game on Tuesday we traveled to Gillespie and the 7th grade got to a slow start but took care of business with a 22-9 win. The 8th grade would follow up playing against a team that beat them by 8 last year. The 8th grade would jump out to a 9-7 lead after the 1st quarter. They would keep a 4pt lead until the 4th quarter where the would extend the lead to 11 for a 34-23 win.
The girls would travel to Ramsey for the last of their 3 games in a row. The 7th grade would play great defense 2pts and to a great job moving the ball and controlling the boards. They would add a big 3rd quarter pushing the ball in transition to go up 28-2 and would finish the game 33-2 for the win. 8th grade would play another opponent that got the best of them last year by 6pts. Ramsey would get out early on Nokomis but a great defensive effort in the 2nd quarter not allowing a point would give them a 10-7 halftime advantage. Another big 3rd quarter as Noko would outscore them 12-5 in the 3rd giving Noko a 22-11 lead going into the 4th. Although someone ran low on timeouts (don't know who ). The girls would hold off a comeback from Ramsey to finish with a 31-27 win!
7th is now 6-6 on the season
8th is now 7-5 on the season
